I first began painting
as a young child and have always maintained an interest
in art. Following retirement from my career as a
Professional Civil/Structural Engineer, and as an
engineering educator, I have devoted more of my time to
art. Some 10 years ago I joined the Adelaide Art
Society and have been an active member over that period
of time serving on the Society's Committee for most of
that period. About 4 years ago, shortly after retiring,
I was asked to teach art part-time within a local
community art programme and I have enjoyed this new
direction immensely. Over the years I have had the
privilege of studying the practice of art under the
tutoring of several excellent professional artists and
have read very widely on the subject of
art.
Many of my paintings are
completed out in the open country side (refered to in
art circles as "en plein air"
painting).
The development of this web
site has been a very steep learning curve, it has been
challenging, at times frustrating, but on the whole an
enjoyable experience. I hope you enjoy looking at my
work.
